About AuthGrid

Our Mission

AuthGrid exists to make hardware security accessible, transparent, and trustworthy. We believe that the devices protecting your digital identity should be open to inspection, not black boxes you’re forced to trust.

Why Open Source?

Commercial security keys ask you to trust that their firmware is secure, that there are no backdoors, and that your credentials are protected. But you can’t verify any of this.

With KeyForge, you can:

  • Read every line of code that runs on your device
  • Build the firmware yourself from source
  • Audit the cryptographic implementation for vulnerabilities
  • Understand exactly how your credentials are stored and protected
  • Modify the firmware to suit your specific needs

The Team

AuthGrid was founded by security engineers and embedded systems developers who were frustrated with the lack of transparency in consumer security hardware.

We’re not trying to replace certified security keys for high-assurance environments. We’re building tools for developers, tinkerers, and organizations who want to understand and control their authentication infrastructure.
