Agreement
By using AuthGrid products, services, or website (“Services”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use our Services.
Products
Open Source Software
KeyForge firmware, tools, and server software are open source under their respective licenses (see each repository for details). You may use, modify, and distribute this software according to those licenses.
Hardware
KeyForge is a DIY project. We provide firmware and documentation; you provide the hardware. We do not sell physical devices.
No Warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We make no guarantees about:
- Fitness for any particular purpose
- Security or reliability
- Compatibility with any service
- Compliance with any standard or certification
KeyForge is not FIDO certified. If you require certified security hardware, do not use KeyForge.
Team Pro Hosted Service
If you use our hosted sync service for KeyForge Team Pro:
Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. The service may be unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control.
Your Data
- You retain ownership of your data
- We store only encrypted blobs (we cannot read your credentials)
- You are responsible for maintaining backups
- Service termination will include a data export period
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for illegal purposes
- Attempt to breach security or access other users’ data
- Resell access without authorization
- Overload the service with excessive requests
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these terms, with notice where practical.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- AuthGrid is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim
- We are not liable for losses due to your use of our open source software
Security Disclaimer
Security hardware can fail. Software can have bugs. You are responsible for:
- Backing up your master seed
- Keeping your signing keys secure
- Evaluating whether KeyForge meets your security requirements
- Having backup authentication methods
Do not use KeyForge as your only authentication method for critical accounts.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify AuthGrid against claims arising from your use of our Services or violation of these terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes will be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
